hi. I have this evening been having a debate with an english friend on the duchy of cornwall and its effects upon the cornish economy. can anyone offer me any accurate information on this subject or direct me in to websites etc that show the real effects of the monarch's dominance?

Alister, I would suggest you start at the CSP website http://cornishstannarytparliament.org - there a lot of information there about the Duchy regarding it's affects on Cornwall. Also, if you have specific questions about it you could post them to this forum. There are a few members here who know quite a lot about the subject. I would not recommend contacting the Duchy of Cornwall website as they have their own version of Duchy history to suit themselves, i.e. to protect the rights, privileges and PROFITS of the Duke of Cornwall.

 Random Information. 
 1997 was the 500th anniversary of the An Gof uprising and a commemorative march (Keskerdh Kernow 500) was held, which retraced the route of the original march from St Keverne, Cornwall via Guildford to London. A statue depicting An Gof and Flamank was unveiled at An Gof's home town of St. Keverne and a commemorative plaque was also unveiled at Blackheath.
