Good sense, particularly given the prominence of Cornish rugby, and the grand names they've played.

Maybe a Cornish team could join the Celtic/Magners League!

You're right SR. Last time I was home a few of my mates who played Rugby in their tender years were talking about the Celtic League, but there's been similar talk for years.

I think I've brought this up before, but I always thought it would be a great idea to have a Celtic Sevens tournament in Cornwall. The teams would have to be from the Celtic nations, plus another one or two from outside the British Isles - would be cool to have some Basque sides, they love the game, and plus they're a small nation too. The one thing is that the IOM may only be able to put up one side, and only occasionally. I'm sure there are enough Breton rugby players, but the game's not huge in that part of the world. (In "France" - note quotes - it tends to be played in Paris and Provence/Basque country, although the oldest club is in Le Havre)

Sevens is a Scottish invention so there is another Celtic connection here, and rugby is very close to the Cornish soul. I'm a wee bit of a rugger b*gger myself, so I love this idea.

The problem in Scotland, is that outwith the Borders where it is the people's game, it's tied too much to private schools, which doesn't help its image. I don't think you have that problem down there.
